Dramatic Clouds

This past week we had some weather come through and there were some really nice clouds. Since the Bay Area doesn’t get clouds like this that often I tend to take time to photograph and observe these fleeting formations. The image above is the result of working in the digital darkroom; the use of software to output an interpretation of a subject that I liked. In some of the work I do there is an amount of image enhancement or correction that I do to bring about what I envision as having the impact that I’m trying ot communicate. Then there are other times where very little is done because it’s not required or I feel that a more factual output and level of integrity is best. Having said all that the image below is the image without adjustment applied. For me the resultant image is a valid interpretation, not one out of the realm of reality. The drama is there it just needed a little bit of coaxing to bring it out.(Reminds me of some of the dramatic clouds in some paintings)
